Write the preparation of the following compounds.
(i) \(NaOH\) by chlor-alkali process:
\(2NaCl + 2H_2O → 2NaOH + Cl_2 + H_2\)
\(NaCl + H_2O → NaOH + HCl\)
\(2NaCl + O_2 → 2NaOH + Cl_2\)
\(NaCl + H_2 → NaOH + Cl_2\)
(ii) Baking Soda:
\(NaCl + CO_2 → NaHCO_3\)
\(Na_2CO_3 + HCl → NaHCO_3 + NaCl\)
\(NaCl + NH_3 + CO_2 + H_2O → NaHCO_3 + NH_4Cl\)
\(NaOH + CO_2 → NaHCO_3\)
(iii) Plaster of Paris:
\(CaSO_4.2H_2O → CaSO_4. 0.5 H_2O + 1.5 H_2O\)
\(CaCO_3 → CaO + CO_2\)
\(CaSO_4.0.5 H_2O + 1.5 H_2O\) → CaSO_4.2H_2O\)
\(CaSO_4 + H_2O → CaSO_4⋅2H_2O\)
