Answer the following question in detail.
Explain the process of separation of kerosene and water.
Answer variants:
Add a large amount of water to the impure copper sulphate so that it completely dissolves immediately.
Close the stopcock when the interface between the two liquids reaches it.
Pour the mixture of immiscible liquids into a separating funnel.
The heavier liquid (water) settles at the bottom and the lighter liquid (kerosene) forms the upper layer
Heat the solution to boiling until all the water evaporates completely.
Collect the upper layer (oil) separately from the funnel.
Allow the mixture to stand undisturbed so that two distinct layers are formed.
Open the stopcock of the separating funnel slowly and collect the lower layer (water) in a beaker.
