Two chords \(AB\) and \(AC\) of a circle subtends angles \(x=88^º\) and \(y=148^º\), respectively at the centre.  If \(AB\) and \(AC\) lie on the opposite sides of the centre, then \(∠BAC\) is \(^\circ\)
