6. Broken filament

The filament is a plastic coverthin wireglass bulbswitch inside an incandescent lamp through which electric currentlight rayswater flowheat energy flows. When the current passes through the filament, it becomes chemically activevery coldslightly warmvery hot and produces heat onlylightsmokesound. If the filament breaks, the electrical circuit becomes strongerelectrical circuit inside the lamp becomes incompleteelectrical circuit becomes insulatedelectrical circuit becomes brighter, preventing electric current from passing through it. Since no current flows through the broken filament, it does not become hot and the lamp cannot produce light. Therefore, a lamp with a broken filament is called a fused lampinsulated lampcharged lampconnected lamp and it does not glow.
